The Department of Insurance reported that 5 people were arrested in Ontario, CA for allegedly staging a car accident. Here is a video that authorities are claiming as evidence (WARNING: Video has strong content). In the video you can see that a driver parks their car in the middle of the street and then gets out before another vehicle impacts it. A total of $30,000 was paid out by insurance companies before the arrests. In the end, insurance fraud affects everyone. In fact, per the FBI, families in the US pay $400-700 in higher insurance costs because of fraud.
