Have you received a text message like this: "California State Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Final Notice: Enforcement Penalties Begin on..."? If so, you're not alone! Many of our customers have reported getting these messages too.

The DMV has confirmed these are scams. The California DMV never conducts official business via text message, social media, or unofficial mail.

If you get one of these messages, here's what to do:

  • NEVER click on any links.

  • DO NOT reply to the message.

  • NEVER call any phone numbers provided.

If you need to verify anything with the DMV, always go directly to their official website at https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/mydmv or call them at 1-800-777-0133. Of course, you're always welcome to call us at (323) 773-4429 with any questions, and we'll be happy to help guide you.
