DO I HAVE TO REPORT ACCIDENTS TO THE DMV?

Text "Should you...?" with an image of a question mark in the back

The short answer is...usually. The DMV requires that all accidents with property damage above $1,000 or with any injury to be reported to them via the SR1 form. The form is usually sent to you by your insurance company but we find that the online version is a lot easier. Here is the link to that site. If you prefer for us to help you complete the form, call us to make an appointment so we can assist you at no additional cost. But it is important to complete the form. If you don’t, the DMV could suspend your license, which will lead to more hassles and higher insurance premiums.
