⏳WHAT WERE YOU DOING 17 YEARS AGO?

Where were you 17 years ago? I can tell you exactly where I was. I was wrapping up a 10-year corporate insurance career and, along with my wife, launching InVision Insurance right here in Bell Gardens. (Here is a photo from those days…might surprise you to see my hair color was originally black!)

Deciding to leave the corporate world was mostly based on a, believe it or not, feeling.  But looking back, it was the best decision I ever made. Owning this agency gave me the flexibility to be there for my special needs daughter that required extra support growing up. Showing up to doctors appointments, therapy sessions and even just taking her to school was a true blessing, and it’s hard not to feel like a higher power was guiding me.

I will say that starting InVision in the middle of a major recession and with an insurance agency at every corner was not easy.  But I did have a plan.  I noticed that insurance in the Southeast Los Angeles area was often being sold with high broker fees and was usually transactional (“just sign here" type service).  So my wife and I built a car insurance agency that did NOT charge any broker fees and we focus on helping customers understand insurance as well as support them when they need us…such as claim situations.  

I was not 100% sure if this type of business model would work…after all, insurance had been sold in that “old way” for many years.  But fortunately, it did.  InVision Insurance has grown to be one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the Southeast Los Angeles area.  

We did have a lot of help along the way. I do want to thank my team both past and present who put our idea into action.  And to our insurance carrier partners, thank you for trusting me with great products and support.  And last but not least, I do want to thank my clients for allowing me to help you with your auto, home and business insurance. You have not only built InVision, but you have made this journey a lot of fun!
