PERSONAL VS BUSINESS USE OF A CAR

Picture of woman in car with hardhat with the text above USING CAR FOR WORK

Drivers do not realize most auto insurance companies make a distinction between personal and business usage of a vehicle. Personal use is generally described as doing personal trips & errands as well as commuting to the same work location. Business use would be any other usage including using a vehicle to go to different work locations, dropping off & picking up any type of supplies or work related items, Uber/Lyft, etc. The distinction is important because if the car is used beyond what is selected or allowed by the insurance company, it could impact coverage in a claim situation. Please let us know if you have questions or want to get a quote for using your car for work purposes.
