Many of our customers drive into Mexico in December so the question becomes…does their US auto insurance apply to Mexico. The simple answer is…”No”. Reason is that Mexican authorities do not recognize any US insurance company as valid, which could result in legal problems and even imprisonment. We would recommend anyone that drives into Mexico to buy a Mexican-based company. You can buy this at many places including the border. For our current clients, we do have Mexican Insurance options available that they can buy ahead of time…for the days they will be in Mexico or longer term for those that go back and forth into Mexico.
