BUSINESS OWNER CORNER: RAFA’S TIME MANAGEMENT HACKS

If you are a business owner…I know you are a busy person. You likely have developed your own way of managing your schedule…here are three ‘hacks” that have made a difference for me:
Get a “To Do” application on your phone. I use Todoist (it's free!), which keeps all my daily tasks in one place. I can even set tasks to repeat, like a reminder to do accounting every two weeks. While Apple, Google, and Alexa have their own built-in to-do features, they are a little more basic.
Use a voice assistant Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant. Ever remember a task while driving or when your hands are full? That's where Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant come in. Instead of trying to remember it later, just say, "Hey Siri, please add 'call InVision about my payment' to my list." Many voice assistants can even link up with your preferred to-do app.
Block off time during the day. When things get really hectic, I schedule specific tasks on my computer calendar (a paper calendar works too!). For example, I might block off 10-11 AM for writing newsletter articles. I fill my whole day with these hour or half-hour blocks, and it's incredible how much I accomplish!

I will end this article with one final point that goes off the article above. If you have kids, no matter how busy you are…always block off time to spend with them. I can tell you from personal experience that this is not always easy. But I guarantee that you will not regret a single second you spend with them.
