Surprisingly enough, there are not many new driving laws in 2022. The most interesting law is actually one that was enacted in July of 2021, AB47 - License Points for Distracted Driving. This new law applies DMV points to anyone that gets two hands-free driving tickets (using a car while talking or texting without a hands-free device) within three years. In the past, a driver would just get fines but no points. With this new law, the penalty for this type of ticket is stronger and for those drivers that have a history of tickets/violations, it could even lead to their license being suspended. Note that most insurance companies now increase the rates for ANY hands-free ticket.
